Choose a kit when the recipient would enjoy the activity and has time to paint. Choose a finished portrait when the gift is the artwork itself. For Christmas, check the seller's delivery dates and leave time for painting and framing, not only shipping.
Digital painted alternatives
Gallery Oil creates an oil-painting-style digital image; Soft Watercolor uses light washes. Neither file becomes a usable numbered pattern automatically.
